  • Wedding Dress Claustraphobia

I have always had a weird claustrophobia since I was a very young child. Putting on shirts  is sometimes traumatic as I feel like I might suffocate while I'm trying to get it over my head. When I was younger turtle necks were TOTALLY out of the question because the tight fabric around my face for those 2 seconds would make me think I was going to die. I am much better now that I am older, and I can generally put on a shirt without freaking out.

I went wedding dress shopping a few weeks ago (if you are on my friends or subs list you got a mass message with a link to a photo of my dress. I didn't post it because I didn't want my fiance to be tempted to try to see me in the dress  before the big day- October 18, 2009) and although it was a fun experience for the most part I had a few freak outs. You see, apparently wedding dresses must be put on head first, because of how big the slips underneath are. So multiple times, dress after dress, I had to put yards of fabric over my head. My childhood fears started to kick in again as I frantically tried to get through the tunnel of lace and satin to be able to breath again lol. Thats something you don't see on Bridezillas or A Wedding Story lol.
