  • Power to the Eprop

Let me spring some enlightenment out. Eprops makes the Xanga world go 'round. Eprops are part of what puts a blog on top blogs. We can complain, over and over again, about how crappy we think posts that make it to top blogs are, but you know how they get there? Eprops. Even if you leave a comment saying "Zomg! Dis iz de worst blog eva, it betta not make top blogs" you have just pushed that post two eprops closer to top blogs.

"But AE, I gotta tell them how much I hate their blog! I can't not comment on posts, even if I know they are intentionally trying to elicit a comment from me by using ridiculous shock value/shock-and-awe tactics."

Well grasshopper, you have two options:

    No Eprops

Just because the two Eprop option is default, doesn't mean that is the only option. You can choose the no eprops option and "stick it to the man" by saying what you feel must be said, without adding to the pool of eprops that will put the post onto top blogs. User beware: It will show that you selected no eprops in the person's eprop log, so you must prepare for some backlash if the person takes Xanga particularly seriously.

Don't want to be that bold in your statement? Want to "stick it to the man" but only a little bit? You have a second option:

    Comment Only

The comment only option allows you to only leave a comment, and no eprops, but it doesn't show your deliberate no eprop choice. I don't know anyone who actually lines up their eprops to comments ratio, so you should be safe and anonymous with your choice to leave no eprops.

Before anyone says how underhanded or sneaky these practices are, they are functions for a reason. Sometimes you really cannot help but to comment on something you find utterly ridiculous, at the same time, YOU don't want to be part of the cause for that ridiculous post making it to top blogs (if you are of those who don't generally appreciate the content on top blogs), so these functions allow you to express your opinion, without giving away your eprops. Eprops make the world go 'round.
